Dr. Hollis is a 1986 graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and a board-certified internist. After a time as an Emergency Room staff physician, she was in private practice of Internal Medicine in Tupelo and Blue Springs, MS until her retirement in 2004. Since retiring from active medical practice, she has devoted herself full-time to writing, speaking, and artistic endeavors.

Dr. Hollis has spoken throughout the United States on a variety of topics and is available to speak to groups of any size. She and her family live on a small farm in rural Mississippi.
